Chad Powers S1E6: 6th Quarter 👍👍 Moving end to the season with some epic scenes with Russ's dad and then Ricky. Seems pretty well set up for one more 6-episode season. Also, Steve Zahn remains a treasure.

Sounds like the FM26 hotfixes have caused more crashes for some people. Really hope that's not the case for me. I've got a Welsh Cup to win.

I've played a ridiculous amount of FM26 beta over the last week. I'm really enjoying my Wrexham's women's save even if I continue to be utterly dominated by Swansea and Cardiff in their tomb-like stadiums. Still have a chance to win the Welsh Cup.

Productive day getting Jamf Connect/Self Service+ account elevation working. I'll be deploying it widely soon.

Mary's car has been working well today. The real test is how it does when it rains again. Fingers crossed that the silicone I applied will stop the engine bay leaks going forward.

Feeling my late night and interrupted sleep right now

Had a super compelling game last night where I was trying to rest a couple of players try some U19 players against a weaker team and they immediately jumped on us and went up 2-0 in the first 5 minutes. Completely rejiggered the lineup without subbing and clawed back two goals of our own before halftime. Played even in the second half to get the draw.

Slow Horses S5E5: Circus 👍👍 Good episode in terms of twists and turns, but I have very mixed feelings about the IT hacking elements (clearly way more was done than a single command). Appears that River's grandpa was still absolutely right despite his mental decline, and Tara is far more than she appeared to be.

Still haven't played my first match in FM 26 yet, but approaching 8.5 hours with the app open since yesterday. Some clear UI glitches and I did have one catastrophic failure where the app had to close. Curious to see how much of my pre-game progress I lost.

FM26 Beta drops at noon. Guess I know what I'll be doing with my free time tonight!

Chad Powers S1E5: Fifth Quarter 👍 Whelp that was pretty painful all around.

Car ran fine with no misfires once I returned the dry coil pack to the fully dry spark plug well. Contemplating replacing all the coil packs and still need to figure out how to stop the drip that caused the issue.

Just realized my mysteriously sore upper abdomen is leaning against Mary's car last night as I stretched into the engine bay.

Got my usual coffee this morning, but still kind of drained and sleepy after the last couple days of car stress and getting to bed late.

I wonder if Canada has a legitimate shot at contending for a gold medal in the next couple of Olympics? They have top young guard talent in SGA and Andrew Nembhard, but maybe just lack depth and elite bigs.

Turns out the coil on the misfiring cylinder was completely flooded with water, presumably from the heavy rain we got last week. I got out the air compressor and blasted the heck out of the spark plug socket and dabbed all the moisture that flew back out with paper towels. We'll see how it performs tomorrow.

Finished Starting 5 S2E8: during my lunch today. Excellent finish to a really good series. It was pretty moving seeing Haliburton's teammate carrying him back to the locker room, and the footage inside there, thanks to the presence of his personal videographer, was heartbreaking but incredibly real.

Jaylen Brown was probably my second favorite of the younger three. Just a super-thoughtful, family-oriented (his grandpa steals so many scenes), stoic two-way warrior on the basketball court. There was one bang bang play in the playoffs where he got leveled running up the court, and I was reminded just how physical NBA basketball can be because JB is an absolute unit.

I do have more cognitive dissonance about OKC than ever, though, mainly because of Chet Holmgren and SGA. All three younger stars on Starting 5 Season 2 were unique and super-likable in their own ways, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was my favorite because of his down-to-earth personality and outward style.

I forgot that I can easily watch more weekly NBA games now than ever before, thanks to the new deal with Prime, Peacock, and NBC. Coming off Starting 5 Season 2 I'm definitely way more interested in the NBA again, and it will actually be kind of fun to watch games with no allegiance.

Inexplicably locked out of 750 Words this morning, and now I'm seriously annoyed with the way my three-day weekend has gone downhill since yesterday. Nothing like having your favorite private venting space denied when times are stressful.

Mary's car unexpectedly developed a misfiring cylinder this morning, so now I'm going to be tearing into the motor tomorrow to further diagnose the issue. Really hoping it's an ignition (sparkplug) problem rather than mechanical.

Starting 5 Season 2 has been ridiculously compelling, and I still have two episodes to go.

Starting 5 Season 2 on Netflix is a great documentary series. Great blend of veterans and up and coming players. I started yesterday, and I'm already three episodes in. Also hilarious to realize how big the Clippers lost on the SGA and numerous draft picks for Paul George trade.

Decided to set up an old PC with Ubuntu Server 24.0.4 LTS as my dedicated container host for anything I want to expose to the outside internet via Cloudflare. Just makes way more sense than trying to do it in macOS.

I discovered last night that saved articles in Anybox do sync across devices. So I can grab Spokesman articles at work and then read them later on my phone. Really cool!

The Spokesman Review website is actually kind of impressive when it comes to tracking down articles by day all the way back to the early 2000s. It's just a bummer that the articles I'm interested in come before those.

I didn't realize that Lewis & Clark's boundary now extends all the way to the Palouse highway south of 57th, but I guess that makes sense once they grabbed Mullan Road Elementary.

Today's effusively pro-Trump email from my rep (Baumbgartner) made me wonder if he was parroting some kind of Republican talking points. Inconclusive, but I did find that someone has created a database of all the congressional emails to constituents which is an amazing resource.

Chad Powers S!E4: Russ bumping into Coach Ricky actually went better than I anticipated, and just a great Danny/Russ buddy-movie hijinks episode.

Trying out Anybox for managing all my bookmarks and the like. I've already imported my pinboard archive, and now I'm trying to get a little more organized.

Mariners won their first game of the ALCS with Toronto 3-1. They were down 0-1 while I was watching earlier, but came back in pretty epic fashion. The M's starting pitcher, Bryce Miller gave up an opening homer and then settled down for six solid innings and got the win.

Container pods actually make perfect sense for my needs, as it's preferable to put Caddy and PHP in separate containers.

Orbstack wouldn't run on my old intel mac mini so exploring Podman Desktop now instead.

Absolute deluge so far today. I think the girls and I are in for a wet run whenever we decide to go.

Bummed out to hear that Diane Keaton has passed. Absolute icon and personal favorite; she's close to the age of my mom and shared enough similarities that if my mom had a sister who made it in Hollywood, I'd cast her for the role.

Refrigerator freezer doesn't seem to be cooling as much as it should and there isn't any airflow from the vents in the back so I suspect the evaporator fan motor has failed. I've ordered a replacement; we'll see how it goes.

Live streaming immersive VR broadcasts of NBA games sounds like a killer app for the Vision Pro! Early next year Apple in conjunction with Spectrum Sportsnet will begin streaming select Lakers game this way.

No room on the girls' busy schedule for a run. Looks like we'll be going Thursday Sunday until fall soccer ends which is fine with me.

Mariners playoffs this week being on FS1 makes me wonder about the post-season baseball viewing numbers.

Feeling pretty blah today. Need to get more productive this afternoon.

Chad Powers episode 3 didn't disappoint at all. Great Ricky and Chad team-up episode. Go Fish!

Pretty messed up that the weekend that Chad Powers debuts, cast member Perry Mattfeld's real-life former QB husband, Mark Sanchez, would torpedo his broadcasting career by drunkenly attacking a senior citizen outside a restaurant and ending up stabbed.

After wanting to assemble one for the girls and myself for at least a few years, just realized that I've had the perfect material for a soccer rebounder sitting in my basement for months after we took down and replaced the wall shelving Mary's dad made for us.

I'm curious to see how Tron:Ares is received because it looks pretty sweet effects-wise and I'm kind of hyped for the Trent Reznor soundtrack.

Good run with the girls today despite not feeling it after doing a bunch of yard work today beforehand. Ran and talked with J almost the whole way while S and L pushed ahead at least 20 to 30 seconds faster. Got home and discovered we'd averaged 5:57/K ourselves.

Palace's meltdown against Everton and Doku coming off the bench and doing jack absolutely killed my fantasy football matchup to the tune of a 30-point swing! You can't make this stuff up!

I think Through the Omenpaths Quick Draft could actually be decent since it's pick-two while still being a three-loss format. I find conventional Pick-Two human draft being a two-loss format too punishing.

Just heard this morning that Pacific Northwest basketball coaching great Don Monson had passed away. Glad his son Dan was able to take the EWU job last year and be close to him in his final year.

Echo hurt his leg somehow last night while messing around on our lower deck with Hunter. Houston and I both heard it before everyone else, and we got him inside immediately to check him out. Seems like a sprain, and he's doing better, but recovery and healing will be a challenge since he's highly active and an instinctual runner and leaper.

It's come to my attention that Kid A is 25 years old and that completely tracks because I remember listening to it a lot in the leadup to (and on) my wedding day which will be exactly 25 years ago at the beginning of November.

Inexplicably forgot my usual Coke Zero for lunch so I decided to tap into my Starbucks account and get a pumpkin spice mocha to get my midday caffeine fix. Still kind of appalled at the $6 price of a grande.

I hadn't heard about Chad Powers before randomly coming across it at work today, but man, one episode in, I'm sold. Love Steve Zahn as the head coach and Glen Powell has to be having the time of his life playing both facets of his character.

Tired and thinking about sleep already. Also contemplating finding some kind of snack.
