If feels like a universal rule of Arena limited at this point that if you start with 3 lands of a given color you will only draw that color. Started with 3, ended with 6 in a blowout loss.

Mary relayed some good news about Eawyn's post-accident car situation a little while ago so feeling a lot better about that whole situation.

Bummed to hear that Catherine O'Hara (Kevin's mom on Home Alone) had passed away unexpectedly. Such a memorable comedic actor and far too young at 71

TIL: Gonzaga is doing a big One-Piece promo during their game Saturday and even a halftime show. There are also going to be special limited edition promo cards for the TCG that are expected to be quite valuable.

It's only taken me five and a half years, but I'm now two Overgrown Tomb's away from having a complete shocklands collection. Now that Golgari elves are a little more viable again I could see finally just outright crafting them.

Just heard this evening that Magic Pro Legend, Kai Budde, succumbed to the cancer he's been dealing with for some time. Seven World Titles and 4 Top 8s across four different decades are an incredible achievement.

The dealer finally looked at Mary's car, and everything is working fine now.

Just realized that my phone has been completely silencing some incoming calls during my workday with no notifications. Not the end of the world, but annoying that I didn't realize this.

Feeling kind of congested and spacy. Think I should probably get some fresh air.

Just realized it's incredibly quiet here at work for a mandatory in office day.

Really fell off on the updates this week.

Wasn't expecting freezing rain tonight. Driveway is really slick and icy.

Spurs 2 - 2 Burley frustrating to only come away with a point, but we played well in the first half until Burnley scored because of a Romero miscue. Fitting that he scored the equalizer late.

Went 7-1 with an Izzet goblin/faeries deck splashing white for a mythic that I never saw other than game seven when it was immediately killed.

KOReader is such a huge improvement over the default reader app on the Kindle 4. I really need to do jailbreak my paperwhite now as well.

Had an unexpected Tahoe-related VPN support issue come up that has kind of derailed the tasks I intended to accomplish today.

Checking out the Kindle jailbreak scene. I have an old version 4 that I'm going to start with followed by my newer Paper White.

Feeling pretty drained from my dog interrupted sleep last night. Just in time for the multi-meeting portion of my afternoon.

I haven't done any video editing in months, but Lossless Cut is a tool that I should have been using all along. Looking forward to trying it out soon.

The girls found my Google Carboard VR set and got me to install the app on the phone they share for messaging, but it seems like all the server dependent functionality is dead.

I am enjoying my MHA rewatch a lot, but I'm kind of bummed to realize how far I am from seasons that are new to me.

On a funny note I'm pretty sure that I actually made it through season 5 of My Hero Academia, I'd just completely forgotten in the intervening time. Interesting to see that season 8 still only has subtitles.

Mary had unexpected car trouble this afternoon so Nate and I had to go rescue her and the girls. Appears to be transmission-related as the engine seems fine, but the tow truck driver was able to drive it slowly in the dealer lot, so maybe it's just low on transmission fluid. Could be the end of the line for our main family transport, depending on repair costs.

Spurs handling Dortmund 2-0 with Djed Spence operating quite effectively as a LW in possession was a pleasant surprise all aroud. Dom Solanke playing well and fluking in a goal to go up 2-0 was a nice bonus as well.

The Thomas Frank situation is absolutely wild because it's fully exposed how out of their depth the new Tottenham hierarchy is. They never anticipated things would go this poorly for Thomas Frank, clearly have not been working on a solution, and are seemingly paralyzed by indecision and cluelessness.

I'm not sure why I fell off My Hero Academia early in season 3 because that show always hit me in the feels, but I started back up on the end of season 2 to get back up to speed again and I'm going full binge now.

The most personally Spurs part about today's Spurs loss was that I had to miss most of the second half, (including when Romero equalized) to take Mary's phone and water bottle to her at work. Then I got home just in time to watch Vicario completely botch a corner and allow the go-ahead goal.

Gintama is a wild anime show, and it makes me laugh so I will probably continue to watch it.

I can't say I want any of the current top three to take the Premier League. Arsenal speaks for itself, City is everything that is wrong with the financial sportswashing side of football, and Villa has unseated Spurs in the top six while flirting with FFP disaster.

From a fantasy football perspective, Guehi has completely underwhelmed me this season. Going to City over Liverpool or Arsenal isn't particularly surprising either.

I wasn't enthused for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy when I first heard about it during Discovery, but I actually really enjoyed the first episode. The Holly Hunter-led cast has a great dynamic and a bunch of cool and unique characters.

The new mobile IDs we've rolled out for card locks here at work are awesome on iPhone, but being able to use my Apple Watch as well is the real killer app.

Pysched to hear that Mother Nature is going to be actively joining the fight against ICE in Minnesota next week.

Spork's Biscuit Bar sounds incredibly appealing to me. Worth a bus ride downtown I'll bet. Just confirmed that it's basically on the City Line and an 11 minute ride journey from my office at GU.

I had the last laugh on Wizards dropping the Mastery Pass pre-order bundle and spent the money I originally planned to spend on that on Hytale instead. I'm not quitting Arena or anything, particularly during Lorwyn Eclipsed, but once the TMNT set drops, Arena is going to the back of the gaming priority line.

I named my first Hytale save First World Problems.

Just saw that Marked 3 has a much more palatable pricing structure at $3 a month now. I have yet to try the demo or anything, but the epub functionality had me pretty interested from the beginning and I'm huge fan of Brett Terpstra and his work.

Hytale doesn't actually require macOS Tahoe from what I can tell. Houston is trying it out on Sequoia right now.

Spurs finally get Conor Gallagher! I'm pleased. The dude is a home grown winner who impressed me when he was on loan at Palace, and yet Chelsea always seemed more interested in moving him on.

Hytale looks pretty cool, I think I'll probably use the money I would have spent on the Lorwyn Mastery Pass and use it to get a Standard Pre-Purchase. Houston seems to want the Supporter Pre-Purchase.

Menus with icons for every single menu item and windows with corner radiuses so large that they only recognize resize clicks outside the window itself is UI malpractice. I'm going to hold the line on minimal Tahoe adoption at work as long as I possibly can and indefinitely on my personal machines.

The free STA bus pass I get through work now works via the STA Connect app rather than my ID card. I find this preferable as I'd rather scan my phone screen instead of swiping my card, but set up was a little bit fiddly.

Finally watched Miyazaki's Whisper of the Heart with the family and thoroughly enjoyed the not actually fantastical Japanese slice of life middle school romance.

Another very disappointing home loss for Spurs as they lose to Villa 1-2 in the third round of the FAC Cup.

Fascinated to learn proper spiral Minecraft staircase construction technique today after being dissatisfied with everything I've come up with on my own so far. Slabs are the way.

The new limited edition (1901 printed?!) all-white commemorative FA Cup jerseys are going to make a killing for the knock-off stores.

Great game tonight with 4-0 Zags vs 4-0 Santa Clara tied 37-37 at the half.

FM 26 is starting to get a fair amount of mods and falsobohemio has done a megapack with a ton of additional men's and women's leagues. Of particular interest to me is the USL Super League support, but it just says it's activated so unclear to me how accurate it actually is.

Romero called out the Spurs board for being silent and showing no support after today's game. Absolute legend.

Feel like Quick Draft might just be a better format for me in Avatar: The Last Airbender than Premier Draft was based on the quick 3-0 I ripped while picking up 5 rares as well. Since they killed the Mastery Pass preorder bundle I'm now also focusing on amassing 3400 gems.

Phixel's Phield Notes is an amazing Decker tutorial deck/learning resource. So cute and completely gorgeous with a custom color palette.

Wizards announced that they're no longer doing the cash purchase Mastery Pass and not including it in the Play or Deck bundles either. It's strictly gems only now which I refuse to buy.

The anger I feel towards the Spurs approach to game management in this one is exceeded only by my anger at the commentators.

Kolo Muani had to come in for Kudus early, and unfortunately, his passing has not been sharp on the wing.

Ben Davies gets his first goal in a couple of years thanks to a Van de Ven assist off a corner in the box!

Kumail Nanjiani is a perfect addition to Fallout season 2 in every way. Macaulay Culkin was fun too; I feel like as an adult, he's got a similar vibe to John Malkovich, and I hope he continues to find interesting roles. Enjoying this season just as much as season 1.

Completely satisfied with the ending of Stranger Things. I look forward to being able to watch it again with my younger daughters in a few more years.

Watched Fantastic Four: First Steps with most of the family, and it was a big hit with Mary and the girls liked it as much as I anticipated so that was pretty cool.

Watching the Stranger Things Finale until tonight's family festivities get underway. It's off to a pretty good start.
